Use an an awl to poke the old gasket and pull down to remove. If the gasket is really, really old, the rubber can harden, and you may need to chip it out rather than pull it. Here's a link to the awl we carry: https://www.espressoparts.com/products/group-gasket-removal-awl?variant=37555217825979
Depending on use and other factors, these gaskets should be replaced every 4-6 months
